"Can a dog training program help my dog with his dominance?"

Dominant behavior - In more recent years, because of tv shows such as "The Dog Whisperer", the concept
of dominant behavior has become more well known and understood among the general dog-owning public.
Dominance includes dog behaviors like a dog appearing to be bossy or wanting to control, and actually can
cause other behaviors like aggression, play biting, barking at the owner for attention or other demands for
attention, growling, marking, jumping, fears, anxieties and many other unwanted behaviors.  In a lot of cases,
to resolve a number of unwanted behaviors, the dominance that may be the initial underlying behavior needs
to be resolved.  So resolving these behaviors involves teaching commands that your dog will obey 100% of
the time (such as "off" for jumping and "quiet" for barking and growling), but also resolving the underlying
dominance by teaching your dog gently and effectively that he is not the "alpha", or leader, or boss, or the
one that should be in control of everything and everyone else.

Dominance can be very mild (occasional spurts of it here and there), to extremely severe, which usually
results in other behaviors that stem from the original dominance.  Many of your dog's behavior problems
could be stemming from underlying dominance, and/or from the other really common underlying issue -
lack
of mental stimulation.

These unwanted behaviors are just some of the things that we can quickly resolve in any of our
dog training
programs at our facility in Eastern PA.
