Behavior Problems
Most owners we hear from call because their dog has "no manners", "won't listen", "jumps on people" or some other kind
of behavior related issue.  Behavior modification is something that must be included in any proper training program.  Part of
the solution is implementing a training method that will ensure that your dog will listen to you no matter what!

Some of the problems we resolve and manage:
Jumping - Many trainers, depending on their training methods, will tell owners to ignore their dog if he jumps.  This usually eventually
works if properly done, since the dog will learn that jumping gets him no attention.  However, for an adult dog it is NOT the most
effective (and certainly not the quickest) way.  Jumping is usually something we can eliminate during the first FEW MINUTES of training.
If the dog can quickly learn a command, as they do in our programs, then "off" will not have the irrelevant meaning to your dog that it
may seem to have now.

Housebreaking - Housebreaking can be a very troublesome thing to accomplish.  There are many ways to do it, and we will help you
establish the most effective way based on your schedule and your puppy or dog's age.

Biting, nipping and mouthing - Many people assume that these behaviors are because the dog is teething or they just don't know
how to play appropriately.  This is actually a social behavior that dogs will do to help them establish the "pack order" of the family.  So,
these problems usually stem from the puppy or dog not knowing his rightful place in the pack order.  For adult dogs, this program is
usually pretty easy to eliminate.  For puppies, it seems to be a relatively "normal" thing for puppies to do, but is not something that
should be allowed as dogs don't always grow out of the habit.

Not paying attention - Life is full of distractions.  Most owners will teach their dogs to "sit" in some way or another, but most owners
readily admit that their dog will completely ignore the command if a treat is not visible, or there is something else (a guest or another
animal, perhaps) that they are paying more attention to.  We believe there is little benefit to a command if it cannot be obeyed in every
situation.  We have high standards for the dogs we train, so we use the most effective techniques in order to get the dog's attention
anytime.

Excessive barking - In the same way that jumping is controlled by use of a command that is obeyed every time, the "quiet" command
is something that we teach in all our formal training programs.  Similarly to jumping problems, most owners are taught to ignore barking
until the dog learns it does him no good, or to distract him somehow.  Again, this not the easiest way to fix this problem!  We will show
you how to fix this in a way that works every time.

Bolting and not coming when called - This is probably one of the most dangerous problems an average family dog can have.  That is
why we work on this first with every dog so that you can get your dog away from any situation.

Chewing and digging - These behaviors usually stem from a dog having a lack of sufficient mental stimulation.  Not all kinds of training
will provide the right kind of outlet for that mental energy that builds up.  Since what we teach the dogs
really makes them think, they
are so much happier because they then have that outlet they need.  Because of this, almost all of the time dogs will stop chewing and
digging as soon as the training program begins.

Other problems also managed:
Leash pulling - resolved in just one day!
Dominance
Aggression
Separation Anxiety

In all of our programs, we teach your dog to behave on AND off leash (including not pulling and not jumping) and to come
when called on the very first day, as these are usually the most important commands for a dog to obey consistently.
